L-3 IEC – Created three complete company specific Costpoint Sql Server environments (detailed transactions, full history) from a thirteen company, org-separated, 400GB Oracle database. Generated dynamic database-link driven views to allow seamless, ‘cascade’ modifications of source selection criteria even after partial loads had taken place. Further restructured one of the companies and merged into a fourth, existing Costpoint instance. Provided full Oracle hardware and DBA support during testing phase. Dual quad core Xeon, 64GB RAM, 1.5TB RAID 10. Two day conversion at go-live followed by validation and very quiet transition. Data errors consisted of two missed POs and their accompanying receipts.
SAIC-Winner of Deltek’s 2011 Implementation of the Year Excellence Award. After working very closely with Great Circle Solutions as the lead on the data migration, SAIC successfully completed its massive implementation of a single instance of Deltek Costpoint that supports and manages its finance, contracts, project control and procurement processes. SAIC uses Deltek Costpoint across approximately 10,000 Contracts, 80,000 Vendors, 40,000 Employees, 1,500 Locations, 500 Divisions, 100 Operations, 25 Business Units and its Corporate Office, making SAIC's implementation and single instance the largest ever for Deltek Costpoint.
Dyncorp International - Executed restructure of Costpoint 6.1 system including a three-way compound account/organization crosswalk. Updated these elements on more than 260M rows including report tables. Due to the many to-one crosswalks most summary tables had to be completely rebuilt. Dynamically regenerated ORG_ACCT and modified PAG and control tables as appropriate. Provide high performance test conversion environment--Dual Quad Core Xeon, 16GB RAM, 160GB Fusion-IO SSD. Applied basic DBA and database tuning expertise to achieve highest possible speed. Executed in 36 hours at go-live with very little follow-up support.
L-3 Unidyne - Extracted company-specific Costpoint data set from large Oracle environment and loaded into new standalone Oracle system. Designed dynamic rule-based, cascading views to sit atop the tables, presenting the single entity, with full details and history. Later applied complex org, account, and project crosswalks to this set and used it as a base for the multi-company merge of two other, fully modified SqlServer environments. Developed and maintained a master project extract to organize all types of actual and committed activity prior to loading into their advanced, web-based project management tool.
QinetiQ - Restructured and merged six Oracle and SqlServer Costpoint and Time Collection databases. Crosswalked up to eighty elements (plus synthetic keys) per source database as well as handled cross-database duplicate checking in areas like voucher numbers and PO_IDs. We use multi-dimensional and rule-based approaches where some ranges of old values are handled by rules and the remainder are resolved based on explicit information stored in spreadsheets. There was basically a thirty-six calendar hour turn during the go-live data conversions..
